Face book????????

hey i am trying 2 talk my mom in to letting me get a face book but she thinks that they are unsafe and she wouldnt let me get one. what are some of there safety feature and why should she let me have one!!

Well, unlike myspace, only people who you've added to your friends list, or people who are in your network, can see your profile. So not just anyone can click your name and see your info.





And for school networks, you can't just join one. You have to have a friend (who is also in that network) confirm that you go to that school. Until you are confirmed in that network, no one can see your profile, and you can't see theirs.





And you can lower the visibility even more - to only friends can see it, or only selected networks, etc.





Facebook is alot more private and secure than myspace.
Reply:I swear some parents are so stupid! They just believe the media all the time saying that social networking sites are dangerous! Well there are things you can do like set profiles to private. Your mom needs to read about things instead of just remembering all of the things that she sees on the news about girls getting raped.
