Reply:Yes, it's totally free. The way they make their money is by displaying the ads at the side of the page. The more people click the ads, the more money facebook makes. Also, facebook has the highest daily return average of all social websites (e.g. myspace, ...). Therefore they could charge more for placing ads. I remember a long time ago I once heard that the facebook creater was offered a few million dollars (it' was either by google or yahoo), and he refused, because he knew it would be worth a LOT more!
