I want to join but i want it to be safe!

Is face book really safe or not?
Facebook itself is as safe as any other place on the internet. It's up to you, however, to decide how much information you will share.





Websites like these can't really be marked as "safe" or "unsafe". It depends on what kind of information you share about yourself. You need to remember that it will be available to EVERYONE. Even if they haven't heard of Facebook, if it's out there on the internet, EVERYONE has access to it. YOU are the one who can make it safe, and you are the one who can make it unsafe for yourself. The decision is yours.








P.s. About people saying that only certain people can view your page - As I already said, if its out on the internet, people still have access to it. There are ways to hack into pages, including befriending you, then luring you into allowing them to see your information. I'm not saying you shouldn't join. Just be careful, that's all.

I've never been on facebook before, but from hanging out here on Yahoo! Answers, I've noticed a lot of people complaining that they can't cancel out of facebook once they've joined up.





Get yourself a new free e-mail before you sign up so that you won't be bombarded with junk e-mails and stuff. Best of luck to you.

Reply:It's safer than myspace, I can tell you that much. Plus it's much more organized, but you can't really personalize it as much as myspace.
